The problem is that they have less than 5k WP combined. I've seen this a couple of times as well, and it makes me wonder if it's really 2,5k WP for an OB or if it's like 2,3k instead or something.

Scores at the end of the game can differ depending on ping times. I've seen games where when comparing the scores at the end, there is slight difference in kills (never deaths) and wp, between 2people looking at the same scoreboard.

There is definitely a glitch surrounding orbitals. I played an ambush game where the opposing team, very unsubtey, called in 4 OBs back to back after earning only 2500 WPs. I personally have no idea how the glitch works, but I do know that it exists.

Oh no! That Cipher guy called in 4 orbitals in a skirmish with only 2 corp mates on his team! How can they do that when they only have 8k wp between them!?! How dare he play with friends from other corps, that make up the rest of the SP you're desperately trying to account for.

Your original post is based on too many assumptions.

also if a member of his squad left the battle before the end his WPs would not register on the end score screen

CCP collects their own data but without a place to look its a needle in a hay stack... still sticking to what i said about you not looking and making a guess becuase its highly probable.
